Hello,

This was an eventful year for Little Twinkle. The biggest accomplishment was the registration of Little Twinkle as a Non Profit organization in the State of California. This was a major milestone for Little Twinkle that started in 2000. It took many years and lots of help from friends and family to pay for lawyer fees.

In addition many of our children have successfully accomplished their goals. Binaya Mahana who was brought to the orphanage ‘SOS village’ when he was 4 years old, graduated from high school with a 1st division. I had met him for the first time several years ago when he was a cute little kid with an ambition to become a pilot. Wishing him luck as he heads to college.

Pinki who had dropped off from school when her father abandoned her family, went back to school and graduated. She is now employed in one of the most prestigious hospital in Bhubaneswar, India. She earns close to Rs 3000/month ($75/month). What’s noteworthy is that Pinki now supports her mother. It filled my heart with pride and joy when Pinki bought me a gift from her savings. She bought me a couple bottles of nail polish. A neat gift from one girl to another!

Little Twinkle sponsored an Indian luncheon for the residents of the homeless shelter in San Jose called ‘Family Supporting Housing’(http://www.familysupportivehousing.org/). It was another very fulfilling event for the Little Twinkle volunteers as they greeted and served the old, the young and the very young ones. It was rice, spinach dal, chola curry and cake for lunch!

We added a new member to the Little Twinkle family – Evelyn an orphan from Zambia, Africa. Evelyn is a beautiful 7 year old whose hobbies include singing and playing. We look forward to seeing Eveyln grow and bloom into life.
