Truly moving...efforts spent on site design complements your on-field efforts, beautifully...compels one to read thru.
I had tears in my eyes as I read "but I came back understanding that these children didn’t require any validation for their existence. While I looked for constant validation from family, friends, and society, even life wasn’t ready to validate their very existence."
God bless you. I would like to help, so would Sonali my wife; my Dad will like to help and I hope I can get many of my friends to help...as your Little Twinkle Volunteer.

Being a survivor of child sexual abuse within my family, I am just recently coming to terms with the trauma and manifestations of the act. To see womenlike you in India working towards making our children aware, I can't tell you how much it means to me personally. Thank you!!
Chris Boult Apr 11, 2005
Sruti - having worked with you over the last 9 months on a professional IT basis, I have always respected your work. But that pales in insignificance to what you have achieved with Little Twinkle. This is an inspiration to me and many others. I had no idea what the Indian people have to endure day after day - thank you for making us all aware of this.
Tarita Pakrashi Mar 23, 2005
Hi Sruti- I am an Indian physician getting a master's in maternal and child health at the school of publci health at UNC-Chapel Hill. I was trying to work on a presentation on child sexual abuse in India and the conspiracy of silence. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to procure too much material which deals with this specifically. The silver lining during the search was coming across your website, I hope to gather a bunch of physicians ( someday!!! ) and other professionals here and use all this learning to implement a model health care model for a village near Mumbai, where I had interned. Child sexual abuse/ equal rights for the child is something that I feel very strongly about, especially now as I realize we were raised to believe that life was this way and children had little status in society. I am hoping to join you/ work on something along the same lines and use the knowledge that I have gleaned to sensitize others.

I've known u as a toddler growing up with always a lot of questions and a lot of sensitivity within u...Knowing Apa(ur mother)so well it's really not surprising to see ur passion for doing such great work at such a young age..money & fame come to a lot but it's only a chosen few who rise so selflessly beyond materialistic wants & demands...God bless u always...for choosing to do what u feel is right...so determinedly for others ...I feel proud of you

Truly great
want to live and die a life where there is less of "me and myself" and more of "they and them"; where keeping others ahead of myself is pure joy and not a part of an agenda. I want to live and die a life where trust is not a virtue relegated to a Moral Science book and being empathic not considered wastage of time. I want to live and die a life where people value true feelings and have the time to nurture them - where reading to my child before tucking her in bed is a priority and not a choice that I debate in my mind.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I checked part of the website the day you sent it. It was late night and I was wanting to see the entire site before I replied.
First, you have done an awesome job on the website presentantion and the content. It was very touching...to read about how many kids/people still live in India with not even 2 meals a day. I was especially touched by the section on 'Child Abuse in India'. I can't express how much this angers me. Is'nt there anything that we can do about it? If so I would like to be a part of it.
We get carried away by our day-to-day activities trying to make our (selfish) lives better, not realizing that if one person just helps one other person then this world will be filled with only happy people.
Just recently my Physics teacher from School started an orphanage in a remote village close to Chennai and I was touch by how much determination she has.
Great job.. I will come by some time and we can talk more..

Shruti - Always knew you were a kind soul from your interactions with everybody. May the desire to help others keep burning and at the end of the day, there'll be kids who will smile and softly say in their hearts - "it's a beautiful world!"

Shruti, I always had the feeling there was that something special about you! Especially the way you remember to remember people's special days - B'Days , Annivs etc.! Hats off to you, gal! Its very inspiring to see some people realize their dreams and take the time out of the usual grind to do something special! Keep it up! And I'm passing your message on to other friends too.. Here's to wishing that the little twinkle grows to a stupendous sparkle over the years!
Jignesh Shah Dec 09, 2000
Hi Sruti, I was really touched by 'littletwinkle'. Me and Bijal have always wanted and wished to do something like this but thats all it ever was - wishes. I guess we were just not motivated enough to take up something concrete. I would love to be a part of your project 'littletwinkle'. Could you tell me what age range the toys should be for? - Jignesh.
Sabrina Moreno Dec 09, 2000
I love this Sruti! I will definitely bring in toys.... Can they use clothes (new) too? any particular sizes? Sabrina
Brad Waite Dec 09, 2000
Shruti, Congrats! You're moving on this! You can count on Pat and I for support. Likely monetary, maybe toys, at least emotional support. Have you by any chance gotten a charitable exemption from income tax status from the IRS, likely under section 503(c)? Let me know immediately, since Schwab might be able to help also. Brad Waite

Your enthusiam sure will keep Little Twinkle going; but it would be good to set some targets so that the difference you make is tangible and visible. Good luck in your endeavor.

The" Project" title is very apt and the cause very worthy. Concern and compassion for underprivileged children is a very positive sentiment. Involvement in such a project is bound to leave elevating feelings for the participants - not to speak of the founder. Do keep the Good work going. Best wishes and God Speed.

My dear Chumki, this is the best new year gift from you. When you were small, I always tell you , don't do what everybody is doing. Do something defferent. You DID it. I am proud of you my child. Walk firmly, fly high. Why crawl in sorrow & restlessness on the surface of selfishness. Grow in faith & fly high. If you do not give, you will never know what life can give you in return. It is EASY to develop intellect, but difficult to develop the heart. Expand & expand in your inner world where there is NO limit. Up to now I was feeling breathless to live in this limited & selfish small world. NOW I am comfortable . I can breath through you. God bless you. Be more good, do more good. With love

The value of work is judged not by its quantum but by the quality and texture thereof.Achievements can be measured only by the extent of selfless dedication. The satisfaction of a good job done selflessly is far supirior to and more comforting than the impermanent joys arising out of wordly acquisitions and mere sense of gratification. Very good job Chumki.our blessings are with you. Moon Moon mai

Shruti, Carry on the good deed! It is through you that many more will be inspired. Many of us always have this in the back of the mind - some means to give back to the society, but few dreams materialize. Your friends stand with you and take inspiration. Thanks from us and many more whose lives you have touched... All the very best always!

Got this address just now from TK's mail. It's nice to know someone I know is actively working on such a noble venture. We in our office are also endeavouring to help mentally challenged children by supporting a local institution which is working with them. Hopefully, I too will be inspired to contribute more personally after going thru this site.

Sruti, I am deeply touched with all the good work you have done. We all say " one good deed is better than many BIG intentions" - but most of us seem to have only the intentions - running around, never stopping to think in our own selfish little worlds. I am so happy to see you are one of the very few DOING work to make other people's life better. I will look forward to helping in whatever little way I can. Best Wishes
